Canada 55+ Games Bulletin #4
BRAMPTON 2016!
The excitement is building with just over one hundred days until the ‘Opening Ceremonies’!
Many folks here in Nova Scotia as well as across Canada have registered and are encouraging their friends to get their information in. Please remember that with less than 2 weeks to go until the registration deadline May 15, 2016 there is no time to waste. This date is firm, no exceptions. Do not miss out, complete that registration and get it in the mail ASAP!
Once registered you can expect a welcome package in the mail, hopefully later this month. The Host Committee is telling us the welcome package will contain specific information about the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, accreditation details, food services, a preliminary event schedule, and detailed information about your sport or activity.
What we do know – Arriving by Plane in Brampton through the Toronto International Airport please be sure to connect with a member of the Host Committee at the Canada 55+ Games Welcome Kiosk.
Once you have collected your luggage and gone through security look for a portable kiosk/booth located in both Terminals 1 and 2. Games volunteers will help you to your bus that will take you to your hotel.
Opening Ceremony Tuesday, August 16th – The opening Ceremony will feature a parade of participants, celebratory ceremony, live music and a BBQ!
Closing Ceremony Friday, August 19th – The Closing will feature the best moments of the Games, a three course dinner and a live performance by the St. Roch Children’s Choir. Then, dance the night away to the up tempo sounds of the big band era with the Swing Shift Band – a band with 17 musicians and 2 vocalists.
Remember that transportation to/from the airport, to/from opening/closing ceremonies and your events is all included in the package.

Are you interested in representing Nova Scotia at the next Canada 55+ Games which are going to be held in Brampton, Ontario in 2016 ???????????????????
Well, your first step is to attend the 2015 Nova Scotia 55+ Games scheduled for September 17th to the 19th being held in Pictou County. To attend the Canada games first preference is given to those that attend our provincial games. In the 2014 games held in Alberta 116 Nova Scotians made up our team and we won 57 medals and we are very proud of what they accomplished.
