First and fore most I would like to take this opportunity to say “Thank You” to, all folks that recently attended the Nova Scotia 55+ Provincial Games in Antigonish. Your participation contributed significantly to the 2019 Games overall success! I would also like to shout out “Congratulations” to, all the medal winners. The CSGA and the NS 55+ Games Society believes that every Canadian individual aged 55 years and over has the fundamental right to the opportunities for enrichment, fulfilment and improved quality of life and health provided through participation in a broad variety of recreation, sport and organized games activities. We hope that your expectations were recently met in Antigonish.
Kamloops, BC, billed as the ‘Tournament Capital of Canada’ will be hosting the next Canadian Senior Games www.kamloops55games.com in August 25 – 28th, 2020. Having recently visited this wonderful city in Western Canada I had the opportunity to meet many of the members of the ‘Games Host Committee’. They are already extremely busy in their preparations for the arrival of upwards of 2000 participants/non-participants to the Games. Twenty-Five events over 4 days! From what I was able to view, their venues for hosting these Games are incredible. Will you be there?
The opportunity for Nova Scotians to participate at the Senior Games in Kamloops is based on the following criteria: To have participated in the 2019 Nova Scotia 55+ Games in Antigonish. Then, in order of merit, Gold medal winners will be given first choice to go to the 2020 Games, followed by Silver medal winners second choice, Bronze medal winners third choice, those who participated in the 2019 Nova Scotia Games but did not medal fourth choice, and finally if our quota is still not full then open to any Nova Scotia resident to apply. This practice of selection has always been followed in advancing to the Canadian Senior Games. Information regarding travel, accommodations, etc. will be forthcoming as it unfolds
